Philippines' Online Shopping

Many Filipinos now are into online shopping. The reasons are the following:

• Cheaper price
• Online sellers do not have to pay rental expense and some of them do not pay taxes. These are the reasons that they can offer lower price than the stores in the malls.
• Unique products
• Online shops have the tendency to be updated for new items since they are always online.
• Unnecessary to go out
• It is favorable for moms who have kids, that they can't leave alone, at home.
• Discounts
• Some buyers ask discounts for bulk orders, unlike in the malls, the price is fixed.
• Freebies
• It is strategy to keep their buyers on going back to buy.
• Accessible
• Internet is convenient to most of the Filipinos. That's why they can easily find online shop and look for their needs. If the person is far from the city, in just one click, he can have what he wants / needs.
• Availability
• It's a lot easier to look for the items you need online.

However, there are also Filipinos who avoid online shopping because of:

• Security / safety
• There are Filipinos who get scammed because the seller do not send their orders.
• Delivery of the orders
• Sometimes couriers get delays for delivery due to rain or flooded area. In worst case scenario, they lost the packages on their way.
• Return and exchange policy
• One of the reason could be that their supplier is from other countries like China and Korea. International shipping is expensive.
• Quality of the items
• Not all items look exactly like the photo in the website. The color might be brighter or darker.
• Measurement / Size
• Since some sellers do not accept returns and exchange, the buyers would not be confident in buying their stuffs online. 
• Originality
• There are fake online items; however, not all. Even though the product is cheap, consumers tend to buy it. Of course, not all Filipinos would admire fake products. Some sellers do not admit that their products are Class A or imitation only.
